Dr. Albert Wang was born in Taiwan and came to the US at the age of 14. He received his MD degree from UC San Diego, and currently serves as the Director and immediate past Chair of the for the 1800-doctor Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group.
 
Dr. Wang is passionate about community service. Past service includes President of the American Cancer Society, Northern California Chinese Unit and Board member of ACS California Division. He and his wife Anna helped found Friends of Children with Special Needs, supporting largely Chinese American immigrant families. He was also Vice Chair of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) and Chair of APAPA California for many years.
 
For his long history of community service, Dr. Wang received American Cancer Society Silicon Valley Region Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award, Fremont Education Foundation “A League of Their Own” award, KQED Disability Culture Award, World Journal Community Hero Award, among others.
